James E. Faust

"when obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation;instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block"                                                                    -James  E. Faust

why is this true? The fact that obedience is no longer an irritation. Well the reason this is true is because many people find it hard to be obedient. However, if this is set as a goal and is done repeatedly is will no longer seem hard to you. Its like learning the lyrics of your favorite song you don't learn it the first time around. You have play it over and over again. After a while you will learn the lyrics by memory and you will be happy. The same is with obedience if you keep doing it it will seem like a mundane thing to do. The reason it becomes building blocks and not stumbling blocks is because when you obey the rules or direction you will know what to do. If you don;t however you will be lost and not know what to do. An example of this would be a job, when  your new at a job you won't know what to do. Your boss will tell you but you have to pay attention. If you do you will be able to do everything perfectly and you can be seen by your boss and might even get promoted. If you don't pay attention however, you will do horrible and your boss will see this a might even fire you.Obedience can get you to many places.
