What this quote means to me is that you if you can't accomplish what you want it's because you aren't living your life the right way. You can't go around choosing the wrong way and expecting to get something good out of it. you have to be willing to choose the right every time. This is because this is how you live your life the right way. By doing the right things. You have to give it all you got, Without giving up. If you really want something you have to protect it. You cant get something if you give up. If you don't get it the first time try again and again until you get it. An example of this is me, i want to join football. In order to do that i have to do weight with the rest of the people that want to join. If i live my life the right way, which you be dedicating myself to go to the weight room every day after school, i might be ready for tryouts in April and maybe even make the team. However, if i don't go every day i will never be ready. you have to make sure all the decisions you make are good.
